Willis Nomo
is a Philadelphia-based painter and muralist. Nomo has worked with inner-city communities for years, designing complex, vibrant, multilayered murals that pay homage to some of Philadelphia’s most iconic African American figures, such as Legendary, the mural for Philly hip hop band The Roots to abolitionist and founder of the AME church Richard Allen. Nomo’s thematic style emphasizes the connections between history, pride and identity in the African American community.
